In class our topic has been allotments. As a class we successfully raised £137.87 towards our project. We have prepared the vegetable and fruit beds and the children are beginning to sows seeds ready to grow in the poly tunnel. We are now going to use our ICT and accounting skills to browse, shop, order and pay for any equipment we need. Thank you for your continued support.
In maths we have been using the counting stick to learn our times tables. We have been taking it in turns to teach our class mates.
In art we have looked at pointillism. We have had a go at using pointillism to create symbols of Christmas.
This half term we have been looking at the life and times of Henry VIII. To bring our topic alive when the children arrived in school on Tuesday 3rd October they were greeted with the sight of an unfinished banquet. On the banquet table there was a pigs head, a hare pie and fish. Upon entering the room we were greeted with the smell of candles burning and herbs and spices. The children reported that the room felt cold and mysterious. It was the children's job to find out what had happened at the banquet and this resulted in lots of speculation of ghosts and an interrupted wedding party! During the morning we looked for evidence around the school and interviewed our key witness Mrs Goodinson.
