School Vision
We love each other, learn together and inspire all to succeed.
Welcome to
We are a school with a proud history of serving the Beaminster community for over 40 years.
In the spring of 2014, St Mary’s transitioned into an academy, allowing us to continue working closely with the Beaminster Pyramid of schools while also benefiting from our place within the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust. This connection enables us to collaborate with a diverse network of schools, sharing expertise, enriching learning experiences, and participating in exciting events in sports, music, and beyond.

Pen Pals Meet-Up – What a Wonderful Morning! We are so proud of our children following the recent Pen Pals Meet-Up – it truly was a joyful and memorable experience for everyone involved. The children represented our school beautifully, showing confidence, kindness and fantastic communication as they met and chatted with their pen pals. We've had some lovely feedback from the care homes about the thoughtful letters and how well the children engaged – they really did themselves proud. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a special project, especially thebankofdreamsandnightmares.org and to all the children for making it such a success. We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 6 children who completed their SATs last week! They showed such determination, resilience and a fantastic attitude throughout the week – a real credit to themselves and the school. To celebrate all their hard work, they enjoyed a well-deserved afternoon of bowling and swimming at Freshwater, with lots of smiles and laughter all round! Well done, Year 6 – you've been absolutely brilliant, and we couldn't be prouder! #ProudSchool #Year6Success #funtolearn Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust
Good luck to our amazing Year 6 children! This week our Year 6 pupils will be sitting their SATs, and we would like to wish every one of them the very best of luck. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the year and should be extremely proud of everything they have achieved. We know they will approach the tests with the same determination, resilience and positive attitude they show in school every day. Remember – SATs are just one way of showing what you know, but you are all so much more than a test result. From all of us at school, we are very proud of you and wish you the very best this week. Do your best, believe in yourselves, and remember that we are all cheering you on! #GoodLuckYear6 #SATsWeek #YouveGotThis #WeBelieveInYou #DoYourBest Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust
We loved visiting Beaminster School for their first Reading Workshop! It was such a treat for our Year 5s to use the library and meet the brilliant student ambassadors. Thank you to Mrs. Spencer-White, Mrs. Dodds, and the student team for making us feel so welcome. We certainly have some inspired readers heading home today! Mobile Phones & Apps – We Need Your Views Over the next few weeks, we'll be asking parents and carers for their views on mobile phones in school. This is a national conversation right now, and we want our approach to reflect the needs of our community. One thing we're noticing more often is that many children are using apps they are too young for. Most popular platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and WhatsApp have a minimum age of 13. These age limits exist to keep children safe from content and features that aren't suitable for primary-aged pupils. We'll be sharing more information soon and asking for your thoughts on: phones in school online safety agerestricted apps how we can support families
To say we had a glorious day at the Discover Farming classroom would be an understatement! Our Year 4 children had the most wonderful time soaking up the sunshine while foraging and cooking out in the fresh air. It was a fantastic way to see "farm to fork" in action! The flatbreads were a huge hit and smelled (and tasted!) delicious. A massive thank you to the team at Discover Farming and The Melplash Agricultural Society for hosting us, and to Andy of Soulshine for being our expert top chef for the day. What an inspiring experience for our children! #BeaminsterStMarys #DiscoverFarming #Soulshine #OutdoorLearning #EducationalTrip #ForestSchooly #HandsOnLearning #FarmToFork #OutdoorClassroom #YoungChefs #Foraging #NatureEducation Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust
