With the guidance now changing from `key workers` to `critical workers` and with schools being asked to support all children to stay at home, to keep everyone safe , Beaminster St Mary's Academy is now in a position to close, which is fully supported by our Trust (DSAT). As a school we wanted to stay open as long as possible to support our families, however, the need to keep the children, their families and the staff safe, is of paramount importance and a key priority for us.

Equality

Beaminster St Mary's Academy is mindful of its public duty to have due regard to the need to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations in connection with disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual identity, and where appropriate, age (applicable to employees only). The guiding principles of our approach to equality apply to all who attend, work, visit and support St Mary's with their voluntary help.

The principles are founded upon the Equality Act 2010 together with related legislation in respect to Public Sector Duties.
