Dear Parents, Carers and Friends
Welcome to Beaminster St Mary’s Academy. St Mary’s school has served the town of Beaminster for more than 40 years and I have had the pleasure of working here for 13 of them, firstly as a teacher, then deputy and, more recently, as the Headteacher. I wouldn’t choose to work anywhere else!
St Mary’s converted to an Academy in the spring of 2014 and it was at this point that I was given the privilege of leading the school. As an academy we have the benefits of continuing to work alongside the Beaminster Pyramid of schools, as well as belonging to a family of schools under the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust. This means we can work with a wide range of schools, in order to share skills and expertise and join together to collaborate in sporting and music events and so much more!
Here in the Academy we are blessed by a staff who are extremely hard working and dedicated not only to helping all of our children achieve to the best of their ability, but also keep them safe, happy and excited by their learning. Our motto is ‘where children come first’ and we put the children at the heart of all we do.
As a Church school, we aim to prepare children for their future by achieving a high level of academic success underpinned by Christian values chosen by the children. We are proud of our links to St Mary’s Church and hope you will take part in our regular worships, both in school and at the Church.
As your child begins their journey with us at St Mary’s, we hope our relationship with yourselves will also grow and that you as parents and carers will become fully involved in your child’s education, and the life of the school generally. By working in partnership, we can ensure that your child will flourish, educationally, emotionally and sociably and will always feel safe, happy and fulfilled.
We very much look forward to working with you,
Please do not hesitate to contact the school should you require any further information.
